Miley Cyrus will star in a film adaptation young adult fantasy novel ‘Wings’ by Aprilynne Pike, according to Variety. Tish Cyrus will be executive producer of the Disney project.
Miley is set to play Laurel, a 15-year-old who grows up sheltered and home-schooled in a small town. Adjusting to a big high school is difficult, and her suspicion that she’s not like the other kids becomes a reality when she sprouts a pair of wings and learns that she’s a fairy.
The novel is the first of a planned four-book series. The deal continues Disney’s relationship with Miley beyond ‘Hannah Montana.’
Miley Cyrus was paid $10,000 a day for doing voice-over work as Penny in the movie ‘Bolt’. According to TMZ who acquired her contract, if the movie had grossed $125 million domestically, Miley would have made an extra $175,000, and more for every $25 million above that. The final domestic gross was $114 million.
Miley revealed to BOP [via oceanup] how her feelings for special love Nick Jonas have changed: ‘We’re very close now, but definitely in a different way. At the beginning we had a lot of trouble being friends.
It’s easy to be a guy’s friend but once you’ve been together, it kind of messes things up. I know it’s not he end. He’s honestly one of my best friends, and I still talk to him so much.
Miley is so comfortable around Nick that she even recorded the emotional and personal duet ‘Before The Storm’ with him. Nick admitted that Miley helped him rewrite the original song to make it more about of their personal Niley story.
Whether Nick & Miley will become boyfriend and girlfriend again or just remain BFFs, Miley said, ‘I’m finally happy again and I think that’s reflected in my music and work!’
Miley Cyrus talked to Elle [Via MTV/oceanup] about her explosive love life. At the time of the interview, Miley was still dating Justin Gaston. She wasn’t impressed with him at first and wasn’t sure where her relationship with him stood:
‘We’re together, and then again, we’re not. Some people see us more as friends and do not get why we work in a relationship. They’re like, ‘It’s weird, best friends shouldn’t date!’ But the person that you eventually spend the rest of your life with, I’m not saying it’s him, why are you going to wake up with someone every day and not want to hang out with them?’
On Nick Jonas: ‘It’s hard for all of us. That’s why me and Nick are so close,
and me and Demi Lovato are so close. There are so many people that could be using you. So me and Nick and Demi, we don’t need anything from each other. We got our own thing going on.’
On imperfections: ‘I like these crooked, I love my teeth. My dad won’t let me fix my teeth or cut my hair. He loves it. He’s like, ‘It’s you!” On her style: ‘Modest is hottest. But then, also I end up doing shoots, then I’ll do music videos where I’m a little more high-fashion. So people look at me in different ways, but for me, every day I want to show what the average girl would wear.’

“For the August issue of Elle, [Miley] goes high fashion glam and dishes on everything from her new clothing line with Max Azria to her crooked teeth. The star tells Elle of her new Walmart collection with Azria, “Literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don’t have it available.” The collaboration will hit Walmart stores in early August, but Miley is already playing favorites, citing the jeans as her “favorite part of the entire line.” Although, when it comes to denim shopping for herself, the young star knows no limit, “I would pay $500 for the jeans that we make for $20. I’m really into high fashion.” And with a glamorous life filled with premieres and parties, it’s almost hard not to be. “The most fun thing about prom is having that one special night when you dress up and you feel like a princess, and honestly, I get to do that one night a lot,” says Miley. But, even though she is a superstar, she still has to listen to her parents. “My dad won’t let me fix my teeth or cut my hair. He loves it. He’s like, ‘It’s you!’” says Miley, who has no problem with her dad’s rules. “I like these crooked. I love my teeth.””
